Based in Vancouver, THE TICKET plays hits new and old in a wide range of styles,
and tailors shows to suit your every event need. In addition to a six-piece party
band, they can start the night out with a mellow jazz duo or trio, keep it soulfully
simple with an acoustic ‘unplugged’ set, or make the party truly huge by adding
a world-class horn section.
It’s not often you find a six piece band with five lead singers and one occasional
rapper! THE TICKET features Sara Ramsay and Saffron Henderson front and center,
with energetic vocals that will take you through the decades and all over the map.
Alex Whittaker is a powerhouse who brings diverse (and wicked) guitar stylings and
lead vocals. Mark Olexson offers smoking keyboards, guitar, and more great lead
vocals. Joel Fountain holds the band together with his solid drums and, yes, fabulous
lead vocals. Then there’s masterful bass player Scott Tucker, who works with Joel
to create the funky ‘basement’ that keeps the crowd on the dance floor all night
long. Though he may not sing lead, look out for his occasional premium rap section.
This is one dynamic band.
THE TICKET’s players each have their own rich musical history, and connective threads
that have woven them together on and offstage from childhood. For instance, Sara
and Saffron met in the studio to sing their first jingle when they were knee high
to a grasshopper; Sara and Scott attended Cap College’s top-notch music program
together; Saffron and Mark sang and played side by side in a band at the beginning
of their live music careers; Alex, Sara and Saffron have sung together onstage and
in the studio for years; while Joel and Scott are a rock solid rhythm section who’ve
played hundreds of shows as a unit. There is a huge stockpile of talent, professionalism
and experience that brings audiences to their feet and keeps everybody smiling.
THE TICKET loves to be onstage, loves to keep the party going, and plays for the
love of music. Your crowd will find their energy to be irresistibly contagious!
