Opera Breve is Vancouver’s innovative, fun, micro opera company, dedicated to one-act
chamber operas from the International, classical and contemporary repertoire.
Our performers are some of Canada’s most talented young singers on the threshold
of their professional careers.
In addition to our main productions, we present classical contemporary cabaret evenings
throughout the year at a wide variety of events in a variety of venues (from corporate
gatherings, to private celebration and fund raisers; from exclusive clubs to patron’s
living rooms.
Our purpose is to broaden the audience for opera, and we perform all operas in English.
We showcase Canada's rising operatic stars to encourage the development of new operas;
we collaborate with, commission, and present works by both new International and
Canadian composers.
